Home / York Professionals Names Brainkind as Charity of the Year
We’re thrilled to announce that Brainkind has been chosen as the Charity of the Year for 2025 by York Professionals, a vibrant network representing the professional services sector in the city for over two decades.
This partnership is a wonderful recognition of the work we’re doing to support people across the UK who are rebuilding their lives after brain injury. Through their fundraising and support, we can continue to ensure even more people can thrive after a brain injury.
It also marks an exciting opportunity to shine a spotlight on Brainkind Neurological Centre York— our specialist, state-of-the-art centre offering expert rehabilitation and care for people living with complex cognitive, physical and emotional needs.
Being selected as York Professionals’ Charity of the Year is a huge honour, allowing us to continue raising the profile of the incredible work we do for people with brain injuries and neurological conditions across the UK.
Funds raised by York Professionals this year will go towards our outdoor project in York, where we’re developing calming, accessible sensory gardens and therapeutic outdoor spaces. These areas will provide healing, stimulation and peace for people recovering from brain injury and neurological conditions—supporting their journey to live more independently.
Richard Barwick, our Fundraising Officer, says: “We are absolutely honoured to have been chosen as the recipient of York Professionals’ Charity of the Year for 2025. All funds raised will support the outdoor project at Brainkind Neurological Centre York. Thank you to the wonderful team at York Professionals for this opportunity.”
Susie Mortonson, Chair of York Professionals, said: “With so many extremely worthy charities to choose from the decision was not an easy one. After careful consideration we are delighted to support Brainkind at this year’s annual dinner, where we will raise as much money as we can.”
One of the key fundraising events will be the York Professionals Annual Dinner—the White Rose Ball—held on Thursday 2 October 2025 at York Racecourse. Last year, the event raised an amazing £3,500, and this year we’re aiming even higher! With a raffle, silent auction and plenty of opportunities to give generously, it’s set to be a night to remember.
Early Bird Tickets are on sale now –Book here.
We want to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to the entire York Professionals community for choosing Brainkind. Your support helps us continue doing what we do best—helping people thrive after brain injury.
If your organisation is looking for a meaningful cause to support in 2025 and beyond, we’d love to talk to you. Choosing Brainkind as your Charity of the Year is a powerful way to make a real, lasting difference in people’s lives.
