Brainkind Neurological Care Centre Lancashire is a specialist neurological care service in Fulwood, Preston. As a nurse and therapy-led centre with an integrated, multi-disciplinary, consultant-led neurological rehabilitation team on site, we provide specialist neurological rehabilitation alongside palliative and complex care for people with brain injuries and neurological conditions.
Brainkind Neurological Care Centre Lancashire is a purpose-built residential rehabilitation hub.
Opened in April 2020, it provides long-term care and neurological rehabilitation in a compassionate, person-centred way to support people in a safe and comfortable environment.
Whether someone needs assistance with daily tasks, help to improve emotional or social skills, or support to regain their physical independence, our services ensure that life with a neurological condition is a life well lived – whatever that means to the people we support. We also promote the active involvement of families as an important part of the rehabilitation process, from admission through to discharge.
Our centre is equipped with a wide range of facilities to help support the delivery of our expert care. These facilities include 40 fully accessible en-suite rooms and four one-bedroom fully accessible bungalows – all with ceiling track hoists. We also have an onsite hydrotherapy pool, a gym, a rehabilitation kitchen, an activities room, sensory gardens, and a front-of-house café to improve quality of life for the people we support.
A safe and comfortable environment enabling people we support to maximise their independence and support their social and emotional needs.
Our specialist commissioned rehabilitation service is based on a neurological consultant, holistic therapeutic allied health professional and nursing led approach and focuses on enabling people to function more independently and develop their lives as they choose.
The multidisciplinary team has specialist assessment and therapy rooms to aid individuals in recovery.
