Their time, fundraising and practical support helps to create brighter spaces, meaningful experiences and opportunities.
Brainkind’s Fundraising Officer, Richard Barwick, tells us more.
Over the past year, volunteers from businesses including Good Humans, GSK, Minster Law, Arco, Monster Energy and more, have rolled up their sleeves to support our services in many different ways. They, along with volunteers from our local communities, continue to make a real impact through gardening projects, fundraising events, wellbeing activities and community partnerships.
At Osman House in Leeds, volunteers from Minster Law spent a week transforming the indoor spaces for residents, creating a more welcoming and therapeutic environment for the people we support. Their hard work gave residents improved areas to relax and socialise.
We’ve also seen fantastic support from the wider business community. York Professionals raised £5,749 for Brainkind through their White Rose Ball, helping fund meaningful experiences for people receiving rehabilitation and neurological care
At Kerwin Court in Horsham, local volunteers and community supporters came together to help create a sensory courtyard garden. Volunteers donated time, materials and expertise to prepare flowerbeds, landscape the space and bring the project to life, helping to create a calming environment designed to support wellbeing and rehabilitation.
We’ve also been proud to work alongside York Racecourse through its Give and Gain programme, where 30 volunteers supported improvements to our outdoor areas at our York service. Their continued support has helped strengthen our connection with the local community, and we’re delighted to have been invited back for another collection day at one of the upcoming race days. These volunteering and fundraising opportunities demonstrate the power of businesses giving back locally and creating a lasting impact in their communities.
Corporate fundraising plays a vital role in supporting Brainkind services. From charity partnerships and sponsored events to volunteering days and community fundraising, these contributions help fund activities, outdoor spaces and experiences that improve the quality of life for the people we support every day.
Across these projects alone, corporate and community volunteers have contributed hundreds of volunteer hours supporting Brainkind services, and the impact of those hours goes far beyond the time given.
As we celebrate Volunteers’ Week, we want to say a huge thank you to every volunteer, fundraiser and corporate partner who supports Brainkind. Your time, kindness and commitment help ensure that life after brain injury can be a life well lived.
