Brainkind raised £2873.66 at York Racecourse on Saturday 12 of October. This amount includes a £1,000 donation from York Racecourse as part of our Community Partnership relationship. It will be used to improve the outside space at the Brainkind Neurological Centre York that is just beside York Racecourse.
Despite the terrible weather Brainkind volunteers were joined by the Phoenix Squad dressed as characters from Star Wars who got lots of laughs, smiles and photos with York race goers.
This fundraising event was made possible by York Racecourses Community Partnership programme. Brainkind are a new Community Partner for this year.
The Phoenix Squad were amazing helping us to collect donations on Saturday. Big thank you to them and the other volunteers who helped on Saturday. The money raised will help support people with acquired brain injury at Brainkind Neurological Centre York by providing funds for use in the outside spaces. Phil Blackburn, Founder/Director, Phoenix SquadWe are so pleased that our neighbours Brainkind are one of our Community Partners this year. I am delighted that the fundraising went so well on Saturday and we are looking forward to planning more activities over a coffee as our relationship continues to grow. Phil Atkinson, Head of Operations, York Racecourse. It was a pleasure to attend York Racecourse on Saturday and be part of our fundraising event. People were in high spirits ahead of a day racing and I was overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness of those who donated. It was a great opportunity to raise the profile of Brainkind and so many people were keen to understand who we are and what we do. Thank you to York Racecourse for making this possible by choosing us as one of their Community Partners for 2024. Keeley Cremona, Director of Operations North, Brainkind

We are committed to providing personalised, compassionate treatment and care. Led by clinicians, our services include physical and cognitive rehabilitation, occupational and educational therapy, We also offer emotional support to empower the person we support and their families.
With experts including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, psychologists and more, our teams provide the care and treatment you need, helping the people we support to live more independently or to meet your goals, whatever they might be.
