Jane Percy House, our specialist residential care centre in Cramlington, Northumberland, won in the Specialist Care Provider of the Year category at the National Care Awards on Friday 29th November. The award celebrates exceptional quality care in specialist care settings.
John Dawson, Assistant Manager, said: “We are so proud to have won the award, it’s such a fantastic achievement for everyone connected to the unit.”
Also at the National Care Awards, Jean-Michel Chevalier, a support worker from Shinewater Court in Eastbourne was nominated as Specialist Carer of the Year.
On the same night, our Brain Injury Linkworker programme won Research Project of the Year at the Neuro Rehab Times Awards.
This category celebrates ‘individuals or providers who have embraced innovation to give new hope and secure beyond-expectation outcomes, helping to create examples of best practice which set an example to the wider sector’.
Our Brain Injury Linkworkers were the winners for their project ‘Neurorehabilitation behind closed doors’, which looks at male service user experience of tailored brain injury interventions directly to people in prison and on probation. You can read more about the programme here.
Elizabeth Wilce, Project Manager for the service, said: “We couldn’t be more delighted or proud to have won this award; every single person in the team has made a huge contribution towards the success of the project and to making a difference for the people we work with.
“The award highlights the significant impact of our research, and allows us to be at the forefront of supporting both the men and women in the criminal justice system with brain injuries.”
Also nominated at the Neuro Rehab Times was our Clinical Director, Dr Rudi Coetzer, in the Lifetime Achievement Award category.
On top of this, the Brainkind Neurological Centre York was Commended at last week’s National RTPI Awards. The award in Planning Excellence – run by the Royal Town Planning Institute – recognises projects that have positively impacted health outcomes, promoted physical activity, addressed accessible challenges, or supported the wellbeing of residents.
Well done to all of the winners and nominees.
