Home > News > Ty Aberdafen team run the Llanelli Half Marathon
Congratulations to the team at Ty Aberdafen on running the Llanelli Half Marathon and doubling their fundraising target!
Georgina, Ioan, Callum, and Beth joined over 1,000 participants to complete the endurance challenge along the beautifully coastal route.
As part of the challenge, the team took on more than the physical training: they aimed to raise £250 to help cover garden renovation costs at their service.
Unfortunately, the recent rainfall and winter weather has not been too kind to the raised plant beds in Ty Aberdafen’s gardens, and they’re in need of some work.
Reflecting on this, the team decided they wanted to reconfigure the space so that it could offer more interactive and calming elements, including a seating area and smaller, more accessible beds.
These improvements will also provide an area for the people we support to grow their own vegetables.
Well done to the team on this fantastic effort!
There’s still time to donate to their JustGiving page.
