Home > News > National Care Awards: John Dawson shortlisted for Deputy Manager of the Year
We’re proud to announce that John Dawson, our Assistant Manager at Jane Percy House – our specialist residential care centre in Cramlington, Northumberland – has been shortlisted for the Deputy Manager of the Year award at the National Care Awards.
This honour reflects the incredible care and dedication that John, like all our colleagues at Brainkind, demonstrates every day to make a difference for people with brain injuries and neurological conditions.
The National Care Awards recognise excellence in the UK care sector. The Deputy Manager of the Year award highlights someone in this role who has ‘a high level of expertise in managing the services of the home to the benefit of residents, staff, and their local community’.
“John is a very friendly and caring person. He takes the time to talk to everyone, and his outgoing personality always leaves people with a smile on their faces. He is very approachable, always listens, and puts you at ease. He will always try to help people if they have a problem.”
“From the outset, John ensured that we felt supported, informed, and confident in the care being provided. He takes the time to listen to our concerns, answer every question thoroughly, and put practical measures in place to meet my husband’s individual needs. His dedication and pride in his work shine through in his professionalism, positive attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond.”
John said: “Being shortlisted is a deeply humbling experience. I’m incredibly proud and grateful for the nomination, which reflects the support and encouragement I’ve received from my colleagues and the wider organisation. I’ve had the privilege of working with some truly inspiring individuals, and I’m thankful to those who took the time to nominate me.”
The ceremony takes place in London on Friday 7 November.
Congratulations, John, and good luck from the whole Brainkind team.
