Home > News > Brainkind Bixley Road achieves ‘excellent’ rating in PAMMS audit
The assessor said: “The service is performing exceptionally well and in certain key areas is exceeding the regional standards.”
PAMMS stands for ‘Provider Assessment and Market Management Solution’. It is a widely used assessment tool, used mainly by local authority commissioners to monitor the quality of care services.
In the report, the assessors highlighted the service’s strengths, particularly rating the following areas as ‘excellent’: personalised care and support; safeguarding and safety; co-operating with other providers; safety, availability and suitability of equipment, and requirements relating to staff recruitment.
Comments in the report included:
“Excellent teamwork and proactive support.”
“The supported individual feels very safe in their home and with staff, they expressed that they can always speak with staff regarding any concerns. I observed the service to feel safe with awareness for all supported individuals’ wellbeing at the forefront of the care being delivered.”
“The level of detail in the care plans and training for equipment use is excellent.”
Roxanne Rolland, Regional Manager at Brainkind, said: “A huge well done to Service Manager Lauren and the team at Bixley Road for getting an ‘excellent’ in their local authority PAMMS audit.
“These audits aren’t easy and you excelled at demonstrating the person-centred support you provide to those living there. This is an amazing achievement!”
Wendy Baylis-Wareing, Brainkind’s Personalisation and Co-Production Lead, added: “I was really pleased to read that care plans captured lifestyle preferences, reflecting the strengths, abilities and interests of the person, and the care plans were developed together with the person, with an emphasis on choice and control.”
Susie Barker, Brainkind’s Senior Quality Assurance and Nursing Business Partner, said: “A positive PAMMs outcome reflects the great work the team is doing and, more importantly, how positively the people we support experience their care.
“It is a strong endorsement of person-centred practice and a testament to the commitment and compassion shown by the service.”
Bill, one of the residents at Bixley Road, said: “I came here six years ago and as soon as I came through the door, I thought there were lovely vibes.
“Everybody treats me with respect, as we should. We’re very lucky to have support workers who care, and that’s a big, big thing. It’s a way of enjoying life in a safe environment.”
