Home / Brainkind Adapt Tool
Designed to help professionals working with survivors of domestic abuse to understand symptoms following head injury, or non-fatal strangulation. This tool is for guidance purpose only. It is not a medical or diagnostic tool.
Brainkind Adapt supports professional to have a conversation with survivors of domestic abuse about their experiences of head injury and non-fatal strangulation, and any symptoms they may be experiencing as a result.
Brainkind Adapt can also provide guidance about adapting practice and signposting.

When using Brainkind Adapt it is important to fully discuss the purpose of using the tool with the individual to ensure informed consent is obtained.
It should be completed in a safe environment, in a collaborative way. We would recommend allowing at least 20 minutes to complete the tool.
Brainkind Adapt is available for free for professionals to use. It is recommended that this tool is only completed by individuals whilst being supported by a professional. Registration is not required.
Before completing Brainkind Adapt, please ensure that you have followed your organisational guidelines on consent.
