About Victoria House
Victoria House is a long stay specialise brain injury centre, providing 24-hour care for people with an acquired brain injury and complex needs such as cognitive, physical and/or emotional difficulties, including physical and verbal aggression, impaired social functioning, and disinhibited behaviour.
Facilities
Each of our twenty-five ensuite bedrooms has its lockable front door, a call system and a hoist if required, and we also have specialist-assisted bathrooms. We have communal areas, including a dining room, comfortable lounges and activities room, and a sensory room. We are incredibly proud of our award-winning gardens, with seating and raised flower beds.
Located in Hull, Victoria House is a purpose-built centre providing accommodation and support for people with complex and high dependency needs, giving independence and lifestyle choices for adults with physical disabilities and/or physical disabilities.
Our rehabilitation models
Our specialist rehabilitation is based on a neuro-behavioural approach and focuses on enabling people to function more independently and develop their lives as they choose. The multi-disciplinary team has specialist assessment and therapy rooms to aid people’s recovery.
The programme may include:

- Support for personal, social, and domestic skills
- Guided leisure time
- Behavioural management
- Community access
- Vocational support and training
The people we support are actively involved in reviewing their progress against agreed outcomes, and we promote the involvement of families in the rehabilitation process. Home leave is encouraged wherever possible.
Becoming more independent
Victoria House is located near the centre of Hull, with its wide range of shopping, leisure, and educational facilities, making it ideally situated for community integration. There are good connections to national transport routes, regular train services, an international airport and ferries to Europe. Leeds and York are both within an hour’s drive aThe seaside attractions of the east coast are nearby.
Who we support
Our brain injury rehabilitation services are for people who experience some / any of the following symptoms:
- Cognitive problems including thinking, memory, problem solving, learning, awareness, and perception.
- Physical impairments that affect mobility, posture, or dexterity
- Physical and verbal aggression
- Communication difficulties
- Challenging behaviour
