The BIRT Conference 2023: Every Interaction Is Rehab – Innovative approaches for people with a brain injury
The BIRT (Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust) Conference is returning for the first time since 2017, bringing together clinicians, academics and practitioners in the field of brain injury to discuss innovative models of rehab, and how we can achieve the best outcomes for people.
The conference will take place in York on Thursday 21 September 2023, and we will be joined by a range of speakers, including:
There will also be a number of interactive workshop sessions for delegates to take part in, including:
Plus, the opportunity to meet and network with colleagues working in the sector.
An optional tour of The Disabilities Trust’s new cutting-edge hospital in York will also be available for those who are interested after the conference has finished.

Poster submissions
We are also looking for poster submissions for this year’s conference.
We welcome abstracts for poster presentations concerning any research or clinical developments in the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of people with acquired brain injury.
Abstracts can be submitted to research@thedtgroup.org until the 30th June 2023.
All submitted abstracts must in English, be no more than 300 words, and preferably have not been previously presented to a large national or international meeting, or appeared in full print before the date of the conference.
Authors will receive notification by the 31th July 2023.
Only registered attendees are allowed to present their posters.
